Dr Madhu K. Parameswaran is currently holding the chair of Associate Professor of Dravyagunavijnana at Vaidyaratnam P S Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal. He completed his graduation (2005) and post graduation (2010) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He started his career as Research assistant at PADAM (Program for Archiving and Documenting Ayurvedic Medicine), an Indo-Japanese research project run jointly by Aryavaidya Pharmacy, Coimbatore and Kyoto Gakuen University, Japan. He is the recipient of the Indian National Science Academy’s Grant for Researches in Medical History in 2009. He is slated to defend his doctoral thesis on the ‘Critical Edition of Selected Chapters of Vagbhata’s Ashtangasangraha’ at Kyoto University, Japan.

He has collaborated on the Caraka project, run by University of Vienna which did the critical edition of some selected chapters from the Carakasamhita’s Vimanasthana and on the Sushrutha Project run by the University of Alberta, Canada which aims to bring out a critical edition of the recently discovered Nepalese version of the Sushruthasamhita. He has published several international articles and three books on his research subjects.
